Mr. HAZLETONasked the Home Secretary why there is no representative from Ireland on the Committee to inquire into the use of cocaine for dentalpurposes; whether there is a representative of every party in this House on this Committee except the Irish party; and whether he will appoint a representative from Ireland, in view of the importance of this subject to a large section of the people in Ireland?
Mr. SAMUELThe Committee is a small one, consisting of only five Members. As the question is a general one, which does not appear to affect the different parts of the United Kingdom differently, it was not thought necessary to provide for the specific representation of Ireland or of Scotland or Wales. No doubt the Committee would consider any application to hear evidence from Ireland.
