HC Deb 21 November 1916 vol 87 c1207
59. Mr. O'SHAUGHNESSY

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what cargoes of sugar were sent to Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Waterford in the years 1914, 1915, and 1916?

Mr. McKENNA

The information asked for is not available. It would be possible to ascertain with a great expenditure of time and labour the amount of sugar imported at the ports named on which duty has not been paid. But this would not take into account sugar on which duty has already been paid elsewhere in the United Kingdom, of which there is no record.
