HC Deb 21 November 1916 vol 87 c1187
32. Mr. JOWETT

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will ascertain why Private F. Pearson, No. 276, 8th Company, 3rd Battalion, West Yorks Regiment, a soldier under age, was not transferred to Class W, Army Reserve, in response to the application of his mother on 22nd June last and in accordance with Army Council Instruction 1186, of 1916, then in force; and if he will see that the soldier referred to is dealt with in the manner provided by the Army Council Instruction which was in force when the application was made and not in the manner provided by the new Army Council Instruction issued on the 6th of October last?

Mr. FORSTER

This man had left for France before action was taken on the application of his mother. He returned wounded shortly afterwards, and orders have been given for him to be dealt with under the instructions quoted in the first part of the question.
