HC Deb 21 November 1916 vol 87 c1202
100. Mr. BYRNE

asked the Home Secretary if he will cause instructions to be issued for the release of Miss Helen Maloney, the only remaining Irish lady prisoner now in internment?

Mr. SAMUEL

I regret that I am unable, at the present time, to release either of the two Irish lady prisoners who remain interned.

Mr. T. M. HEALY

Can the right hon. Gentleman give us some idea of what this lady has done? She has now been in prison over six months.

Mr. SAMUEL

I have frequently stated it.

Mr. LYNCH

Would it not be better, without considering any charge against this lady, to remove this question from the region of controversy?
