HC Deb 16 November 1916 vol 87 c977
77. Mr. G. TERRELL

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the value and importance of the enemy securities in the hands of the Public Trustee and the pressure of work in all of the Departments of the Government, he will see his way to appoint a small Committee of the business men of this House to control and direct the operations of their sale?

Mr. BONAR LAW

There is already in existence an Advisory Committee consisting of business men appointed by the Lord Chancellor to assist the Public Trustee in dealing with securities. The Committee is available to afford the Public Trustee advice in dealing with any securities in his hands, and I do not think that the appointment of a further Committee would facilitate his work in dealing with enemy securities.

Mr. TERRELL

Can the right hon. Gentleman give the names of the Advisory Committee?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I have not got them in my mind, but if my hon. Friend will put down a question I think I can give them.
