§ 4. Colonel YATEasked the Secretary of State for India whether the medal granted to the officers and men of the Royal Navy and Royal Indian Marine for services in the gun-running operations in the Persian Gulf and adjacent countries during the years 1909 to 1914 has been granted to the troops employed at various places in the same operations; and, if not, will he take measures for the grant of this medal to the troops concerned?
§ Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe medal granted is a naval one. The question of the grant of a medal to the troops employed in operations for the suppression of gun-running was fully considered in 1913 and 1914, and I see no ground for reopening it.
