HC Deb 15 November 1916 vol 87 c789
82. Mr. OUTHWAITE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has received resolutions from a conference in Glasgow, held on 4th November, attended by representatives of municipalities and trades unions demanding the taxation of land values; and whether he proposes to take steps to give effect to these resolutions?

Mr. McKENNA

I am unable to trace the receipt of the resolutions referred to, and am, therefore, not in position to reply to the second part of the question.

Mr. OUTHWAITE

Will my right hon. Friend at any rate take steps to see that landlords are called upon for a direct contribution for the defence of their land?
