HC Deb 15 November 1916 vol 87 cc769-70
26. Mr. HAZLETON

asked what proportion of the total number of voters on the roll of the Commonwealth of Australia is estimated to be made up of Irish-Australians?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I have no means of obtaining the information asked for, but of the total population at the time of the last Census 139,434 were born in Ireland. Of the remainder it is impossible to state what number were wholly or partially of Irish extraction.
