HC Deb 15 November 1916 vol 87 c827
Mr. STUART-WORTLEY

Might I ask the right hon. Gentleman who is leading the House, in reference to the business for to-morrow, whether he will reconsider the determination to proceed to-morrow with the Registration of Business Names Bill; whether he is aware that, as the reprinted copy of the Bill has only just appeared, it is impossible for it to reach any of the chambers of commerce or bodies interested in the matter throughout the country before to-morrow morning, and that consequently those bodies would not have time to communicate with their Parliamentary representative before the Bill is taken in Committee?

Sir E. CARSON

Before the right hon. Gentleman replies, may I also point out that the Amendments which have been put down to the Bill will all have to be rearranged so as to be suitable to the Bill.

Mr. BONAR LAW

I am afraid, in view of the points which have been raised by my right hon. Friend, that it will be impossible to take the Bill to-morrow, though I much regret it.

Sir H. DALZIEL

What is the business for to-morrow?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The only business arranged for to-morrow is the Constabulary and Police (Ireland) Bill.
