§ 115. Mr. LUNDONasked the President of the Board of Trade what was the estimated cost of shipping in the case of coal taken from Wales to Ireland in the years 1914, 1915, and 1916?
Mr. RUNCIMANI am unable to furnish an estimate of the nature suggested by the hon. Gentleman, but some indication of the increased cost is afforded by the rates of freight on coal from South Wales to Dublin at the beginning of August in the years in question, which were as follows:
August, 1914 | … | … | 4s. 3d. |
August, 1915 | … | … | 6s. 6d. |
August, 1916 | … | … | 13s. 6d. |
