HC Deb 18 May 1916 vol 82 cc1639-40
66. Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Under secretary of State for War if he will make inquiry into the treatment meted out to three conscientious objectors at Bettisfield Park Camp, who were forcibly stripped of their clothes and marched across the camp ground, one entirely naked, and also into the numerous complaints which are made about the way in which conscientious objectors are treated at Fullwood barracks, Preston, being beaten with sticks, handcuffed, kicked across the barrack yard, indecently assaulted when undressed, and subjected to filthy language?

Mr. TENNANT

Inquiry has been ordered, and I am awaiting the result.
