§ 85. Mr. ROWLANDSasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether in some cases when the military authorities have taken over workhouses and infirmaries, a number of male and female inmates have been engaged to do indoor and outdoor work in connection with these institutions; whether in some cases a small weekly allowance is being made to these people ranging from 1s. to 3s. a week, while in other cases no allowance is being made; and will he see that these workers are all placed on a uniform scale of allowance of not less than 3s. a week?
