§ 81. Mr. BYRNEasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he will state what action the Government propose to take in dealing with the deported prisoners from Ireland; and whether the Government will bear in mind the precedent established by General Botha as regards the clemency shown to the prisoners in the South African rising?
§ Mr. TENNANTThe Government hope soon to be in a position to state their decision respecting the action to be taken in dealing with the prisoners deported from 1127 Ireland. In the meantime I can assure the hon. Member that there is every desire to deal as leniently with these persons as the circumstances may permit.
