HC Deb 09 May 1916 vol 82 cc441-2
18. Mr. FIELD

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he will state what further progress has been made towards the establishment of the promised examining and receiving depot in Dublin?

Mr. FORSTER

This question has been most carefully considered and I am advised by the military authorities that the provision of such a depot and the staff required in connection with it cannot be justified from the financial point of view. Other steps have been and are being taken, however, which go far to meet the special difficulties of the Irish manufacturers.
