HC Deb 09 May 1916 vol 82 c443
34. Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTT

asked the Minister of Munitions the number of men and women workers who have been supplied by the Labour Exchanges recently to controlled establishments; and whether the proportion of women workers appointed is increasing?

Dr. ADDISON

The number of men and women workers supplied by the Labour Exchanges to controlled establishments in the four months from 10th December, 1915, to 14th April, 1916, was 130,137. The proportion of women workers has increased during that period from about one-third in December to nearly 50 per cent, in April, and I anticipate that this proportion will continue to increase.
