HC Deb 03 May 1916 vol 82 c12
17. Mr. M. BARLOW

asked whether a bounty is at present payable in the case of either Regular or Territorial soldiers re-enlisting after the completion of their time; and whether, if the bounty is paid in the case of Regular soldiers and not in the case of Territorials, he will consider whether the bounty should be payable in the case of Territorials also?

Mr. FORSTER

A bounty is at present payable to soldiers who agree to continue in the service for the duration of the War after completing a full period of enlistment of twelve years, and any additional period for which they have already engaged together with the extra year for which they may be retained under the Army Act.
