HC Deb 16 March 1916 vol 80 cc2228-9
8. Mr. PRINGLE

asked whether the Italian Government has requisitioned German ships lying in Italian ports in the same way and under the same conditions as the Portuguese Government has dealt with similar ships in Portuguese ports?

Sir E. GREY

The Governments of both countries have taken power to requisition all German ships lying in their ports, and it is, I believe, intended in both cases to make the utmost use of the vessels concerned. If there are other points on which the hon. Member wishes a comparison established, I must ask him to specify them more exactly in order that the necessary information may be obtained if not already available.
