§ Mr. TENNANTMy hon. Friend should seek information regarding any action on the 14th January from the India Office who Were at that time in control of the opera- 1524 tions. In regard to operations at Nasiriyah on the 7th February, I would refer him to the answer I gave to the hon. and gallant Member for the Enfield Division on the 21st February. As regards later battles, I may inform him that a small punitive column set out against a hostile Arab concentration about 4 miles north of Nasiriyah on the 22nd February, and that the enemy fled and suffered severely, whilst we had no casualties.
