HC Deb 29 June 1916 vol 83 c1002
3. Mr. GILBERT

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether he proposes to commemorate in any way the fact of the late Lord Kitchener addressing, on Friday, 2nd June, in Committee Room No. 14, a meeting of Members of this House?

The FIRST COMMISSIONER Of WORKS (Mr. Harcourt)

I am obliged to the hon. Member for the suggestion which he made to me privately. I believe that it will meet the sense of the House, and, having already obtained Mr. Speaker's concurrence, I propose to place a small metal plate in the Committee Room, recording that in that room Lord Kitchener met Members of the House of Commons on 2nd June, and that on 5th June he died at sea.
