Major WHELERasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether there are a number of pensioner warrant officers and non-commissioned officers who volunteered for re-enlistment at the outbreak of the War to train the New Armies and who are with their units overseas; and, if so, will he consider the advisability of replacing these warrant officers by serving warrant officers and non-commissioned officers from Reserve battalions at Home?
§ Mr. TENNANTThis proposal has already been under the consideration of the Army Council, who are in consultation with the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief on the matter. I cannot make any statement on the matter to-day.
