§ The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. McKenna)The total import of petrol spirit into the United Kingdom in the twelve months ended 31st May, 1916, was 144,000,000 gallons. The quantity imported apart from that used for Government purposes cannot be stated. The quantities on which duty was paid in the same period were:
