Mr. MacCALLUM SCOTTasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether any provision has been made or is proposed to be made for the parent of a soldier who was not actually dependent on him before he joined the Army, but who, through age, or illness, or bereavement, has been deprived of the means of support, and would naturally have been expected to be supported by the son who has been called up for military service?
§ Mr. FORSTERThe Regulations issued by the Statutory Committee provide that a local committee may, subject to certain limits and conditions, grant a special separation allowance equivalent to the amount which in the committee's opinion the soldier or sailor might presumably have been expected to give if he were living at home.
