Mr. CURRIEasked the Comptroller of the Household, as representing the National Health Insurance Commissioners, whether his attention has been drawn to the strictures contained in Clauses 13, 14, and 15 of the Report just issued by the Committee of Public Accounts upon certain expenditure stigmatised by the Committee as improper and irregular in character and considerable in amount; and whether he will state, approximately, what the amount of, money involved is?
§ Mr. C. ROBERTSThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The particulars asked for are given, so far as they are available, in the First and Second Reports on the work of the National Insurance Audit Department (Cd. 7885 and 8210). I may perhaps also refer the hon. Member to my statement on 20th June as to the general, character of the expenditure in question.
