CORNWALLasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether about twenty non-commissioned officers and men of the 1st/10th London battalion were promoted temporarily while on active service in Gallipoli, and since their return to this country have been paid according to the new rank given to them while overseas; whether he is aware that recently new orders were issued reverting these men to the rank they held before proceeding overseas, which order in effect makes them liable to refund Service money paid to them by their battalion on the higher rank scale, in one case amounting to as 715 much as £35; and whether he will at once issue instructions which will prevent any financial liability falling upon these men?
