§ 2. Mr. KINGasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the public announcement that the consuls of our Allies are urging the British Government to compel allied aliens either to enlist in the British Army or to return to their own countries and take up military service there, he will state what Allied Governments have made requests or suggestions in this direction; and what action, if any, has been taken?
§ Sir E. GREYI am not aware that there has been any public announcement to the effect stated, on the subject of aliens and military service. I have nothing to add to the answers given by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department, to the hon. Member for the Ludlow Division of Shropshire on the 1st instant, and to the answers given to the hon. Member himself on the 19th April and 16th March.
