HC Deb 01 June 1916 vol 82 c2915
9. Mr. R. McNEILL

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will lay upon the Table of the House, when Parliament resumes the Session after the Whitsun Recess, Papers relating to Serbia up to the end of 1915?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

It would not be possible in present circumstances to publish a complete account of events connected with Serbia. The Papers involve the communications of the other Allied Governments with the Serbian Government and with each other; they cannot be published without communicating those portions of them which concern other Allied Governments, to those Governments and obtaining their consent, and I cannot see how that is to be done without great expenditure of labour and time that ought to be devoted to work essential to the prosecution of the War.
