§ 39. To ask the Home Secretary, with reference to the two Bills which the Government have promised to introduce to facilitate the reconstruction of the portion of the city of Dublin destroyed in the course of the recent disturbances, and to effect an amendment of legal procedure rendered necessary by those disturbances, whether he can say when they will be introduced; and whether he is aware that the early passage into law of those measures is a matter of great urgency?
§ Mr. CLANCYI did not know, when I put down this question, that one of the two Bills referred to was to be introduced yesterday.
Mr. SAMUELOne of these Bills the Law and Procedure (Emergency Provisions) (Ireland) Bill has already been introduced, and will be circulated to-day. It is hoped to introduce the other Bill next week. I would remind the hon. Member that the provisions to be inserted in this Bill form the subject of discussion between the Dublin Corporation and the Government Departments concerned, and the latest proposals of the corporation were put forward on the 18th instant.
