Mr. BUTCHERasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that condensed milk prepared by the Nestle and Anglo—Swiss Company, marked Produced in Switzerland, is being sold in the United Kingdom; and whether, in view of their statement that their purchases of German raw products largely exceed their sales of condensed milk in Germany, he will take steps to prevent the importation of this condensed milk into the United Kingdom from Switzerland unless it is shown that it contains no German sugar or other German raw product?
Mr. HARCOURTI understand that the sugar used in the Swiss factories of this company is derived mainly from America and that none is of German origin.
