Mr. SAMUELI am informed that the Commissioners of National Education have received a statement of the nature 1679 referred to, but that financial conditions preclude any action being taken in the matter at the present time.
§ Mr. MEEHANIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that up to now male teachers in model schools in Ireland have received free residence or rent allowance, and that before 1900 the headmistresses of model schools in Ireland have received £30 per annum from the Treasury in respect of their residence?
