HC Deb 20 July 1916 vol 84 cc1171-2
57. Mr. BYRNE

asked the Prime Minister if he is aware of the indignation in Dublin caused by the refusal to hold a public inquiry into the North King Street murders; if, to satisfy the demands for justice, he will call for the evidence submitted at the inquests of the victims and the jury's verdict on the same; if he will say why the Government refuse an open inquiry; and if he is aware that the refusal to accede to this request is looked on with suspicion by the Irish people?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have nothing to add to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for East Mayo on Monday last.

Mr. BYRNE

Will the right hon. Gentleman take steps to obtain a copy of the verdict of the coroner's jury into the North King Street murders? Is he aware of it?
