Mr. ANDERSONasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he will investigate the case of ex-Sergeant Samuel Spiers, No. 47,583, C Battery, 55th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery; whether he is aware that this man, before the out-break of war, had retired after twenty-one years' service on a pension of 2s. per day, I and had, in addition, received employment 1015 by the Belfast Corporation at a wage of 38s. per week; and that he rejoined at the outbreak of war, and was discharged in 1915, owing to complete breakdown in his health: and, seeing that he has since been a complete invalid and has received no more than 14s. a week, his old pension, on which he has to keep his wife and family, will he say what action it is proposed to take?
