HC Deb 18 July 1916 vol 84 c838
43. Mr. KING

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether he is aware that the Prince of Wales's National Relief Fund has voted £10,000 to Lord Knutsford's hospitals for nerve shaken officers so that such cases may be treated apart from lunacy asylums and lunacy administration; and whether the Government will provide the necessary funds so that nerve shaken soldiers and sailors may be similarly treated apart from asylums?

Mr. FORSTER

This question is, I think, based upon a misapprehension. Soldiers suffering from shock are treated in Military War Hospitals under the control of the War Office, and the arrangements made for these cases have been pronounced highly satisfactory by various independent and competent judges.
