HC Deb 18 July 1916 vol 84 cc818-9
4. Sir E. CORNWALL

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, whether he will state the terms of the last Allied Note to the Greek Government; and whether he can give any information as to the exact nature of the Greek reply and the extent to which the demobilisation of the Greek Army has been carried out?

Lord R. CECIL

My hon. Friend will understand that His Majesty's Government cannot lay Allied Notes before Parliament except after consultation and in agreement with their Allies. It is also undesirable, as a rule, to make public statements in detail about mobilisation or demobilisation of Armies. It will perhaps be sufficient for my hon. Friend's purpose to say that relations with the present Greek Government are regarded as satisfactory.
