MEEHANasked the Minister of Munitions, in view of the importance of developing the agricultural resources in Ireland and forwarding up-to-date agricultural methods, whether he will relax the prohibition against the exhibition of machinery, metal ware, and implements to such extent as to allow local merchants and traders who have these articles in stock to exhibit such articles at local and county agricultural shows?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MUNITIONS DEPARTMENT (Dr. Addison)It has been found necessary, in the interest of the supply of munitions, to apply this restriction generally to agricultural shows throughout the United Kingdom, and I regret that it is not practicable to make an exception in favour of Ireland.
