§ 75. Sir J. LONSDALEasked the President of the Board of Trade if he has any information of large purchases of enemy goods having been made on behalf of British firms at the Leipsic Fair last autumn for delivery immediately after the 1533 conclusion of peace; and, having regard to the provisions of the Trading With the Enemy Act respecting such transactions, whether he proposes to take any steps to prevent British firms entering into such contracts?
Mr. HARCOURTI have no official information that such purchases have been made, but I shall be glad to have any evidence on the subject that the hon. Baronet is in a position to furnish, with a view to considering what action can usefully be taken in the matter.
