REESasked the Under-Secretary for War (1) whether Major-General Peyton's Gallipoli dispatches will be published; if so, within what period of time; and (2) whether any dispatches will be published regarding the part taken by the 2nd Mounted Brigade in operations at and in the evacuation of Gallipoli, and by the mounted troops who replaced that brigade after its dispatch to Egypt?
§ Mr. TENNANTI will answer these two questions by repeating what I have often stated previously. The operations of subordinate commanders are covered by the dispatches of the Commander-in-Chief and are not published. This rule applies to the case mentioned in these two questions.
