§ 93. Mr. KEATINGasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is aware that a representative of the War Office visited Mr. Edward Hanrahan, farmer, Tullogher, county Kilkenny, last November, and purchased on behalf of the Army a rick of hay which was to be taken away and paid for at Christmas, and that the price agreed was £4 10s. per ton; whether he is aware that the hay has not yet been taken away or paid for, and that Mr. Hanrahan has lost opportunities of selling the hay at a higher price and has been deprived of the use of the money in the meantime; whether he is aware that the representative of the War Office has ignored Mr. Hanrahan's letters on the subject; and, as some of the hay has been injured by the weather it will be a dead loss to the vendor, whether he will take steps to compensate him for the loss caused by the negligence of the War Office representative?
