HC Deb 12 January 1916 vol 77 cc1602-3
60. Mr. SHERWELL

asked the Prime Minister if he will publish the detailed results of the National Register taken under the Registration Act?

Mr. LONG

The Prime Minister has asked me to reply to this question. I do not think it is in the public interest to disclose the details of the National Register.

Mr. SHERWELL

Can the right hon. Gentleman say what reason there is in the public interest why at least particulars of the age group should not be given, especially in consideration of the fact that there is grave reason to doubt that the official figures on which the whole scheme is founded is greatly inaccurate?

Mr. LONG

The figures were placed fully before the House in Lord Derby's Report.
