HC Deb 12 January 1916 vol 77 c1606
72. Sir GEORGE TOULMIN

asked the Minister of Munitions whether the War Office were consulted before the Central Control Board (Liquor Traffic) Order was applied to London; and whether they expressed their concurrence in the Order?

The MINISTER Of MUNITIONS (Mr. Lloyd George)

A draft of the London Order was sent to the War Office by the Central Control Board (Liquor Traffic) with a request for their observations upon it. On 13th November a reply was received from the War Office to the effect that the Army Council concurred in the terms of the Draft Closing Order.

Mr. W. THORNE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that when this Order was made compulsory very few Members of this House protested against it?
