HC Deb 06 January 1916 vol 77 cc1103-4
85. Mr. LUNDON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the officers who were recalled because of the disasters at Suvla Bay are still doing duty as public officials; and, if so, what posts do they occupy, and where are they stationed?

Mr. TENNANT

I do not think I can add anything to the answer I gave to the hon. Member on the 23rd December last.

86. Mr. LUNDON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War why the Report of General Sir Ian Hamilton on the Suvla Bay landing has not been published; whether any inquiry was held into the incidents connected with the landing at Suvla Bay; and, if so, will the Report of the same be published, together with General Hamilton's Report, as soon as possible?

Mr. TENNANT

The dispatch of Sir Ian Hamilton will be in the hands of the public to-morrow morning As regards the latter part of the question, I may say that, while the circumstances have been carefully considered at the War Office, no formal inquiry has been held.
