HC Deb 06 January 1916 vol 77 c1108
91. Major HUNT

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the amount of coal supplied to the Third Army in France has been lately very seriously reduced; is he aware that this has caused discomfort to these troops at the front; will he say whether this reduction of coal supplies has been caused by the coalowners putting up the prices against the British Army; and, if so, what he proposes to do to enable our soldiers at the front to have their former and necessary supply of coal?

Mr. TENNANT

No report has reached the War Office in the sense of the first part of the hon. and gallant Gentleman's question.
