HC Deb 06 January 1916 vol 77 c1101
74. Mr. CHANCELLOR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War the total number, apart from those enlisted under the Derby scheme, of married and unmarried men, respectively, in all branches of the Army, excluding Indian and Colonial troops, or, if numbers can not be given, the proportion of married and single, respectively?

Mr. TENNANT

These statistics, as I have stated on previous occasions, are not available. Without some data I am not prepared to suggest what the proportion of married and single men respectively may be.
