HC Deb 06 January 1916 vol 77 cc1105-6
80. Mr. GRANT

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if the adjutants of the third line have now duties to perform of equal importance and as onerous as adjutants of the second line; and, if so, can he see his way to recommend that the pay of adjutants of the third line can be made equal to the pay of adjutants of the second line?

Mr. FORSTER

In consequence of a change of organisation which has reduced the status of the third line units from that of battalion to that of depot, adjutants of the depot now receive less extra pay than adjutants of battalions according to a well understood rule.

Mr. GRANT

What is the well-understood rule?

Mr. FORSTER

That adjutants of depots get less than adjutants of battalions.
