The Sixth Session of the Thirtieth Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, appointed to meet 15th February, 1916, in the sixth year in the reign of King George V., was opened by Commission.

Mr. SPEAKER (Right Hon. James William Lowther) took the Chair at Two of the clock.

The GENTLEMAN USHER of the Black Rod (Admiral Sir H. F. STEPHENSON) was announced.

Addressing Mr. SPEAKER, Black Rod said: The Lords, authorised by virtue of the King's Commission, request the immediate attendance of this Honourable House at the House of Lords to hear the Commission read.

Mr. SPEAKER, accompanied by Members, went to the House of Lords.

On their return the Chairman of Ways and Means reported, That, in accordance with Standing Order 79, he had conferred with the Chairman of Committees of the House of Lords for the purpose of determining in which House of Parliament the respective Private Bills should be first considered, and they had determined that the Bills contained in the following list should originate in the House of Lords, Namely:—

The Sitting of the House was suspended until Four of the clock, and then resumed.
