Mr. WINGasked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the deputation of Members of Parliament, representative of all parties, that waited upon the Treasury on 5th December last, thanking the Government for their concessions to old age pensioners in allowing them to earn wages up to a certain amount or to receive allowances as dependants of soldiers, without reduction of pension, and urging that the grant of the additional 2s. 6d. should be paid to all old age pensioners who are unable to avail themselves 1822 of such concessions, having regard to the fact that all existing old age pensioners have satisfied the conditions imposed by the Old Age Pensions Acts, and that the additional grant was intended to alleviate hardships arising from the increased cost of living, which applies to all pensioners alike; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?
