43. Mr. MEEHANasked if the accredited agents of Foreign Allied Governments are permitted to purchase horses in Ireland which are not required by our Government and which have been rejected by our Government buyers?
§ Mr. FORSTERApplications to export horses from the United Kingdom would be considered by the War Trade Committee on their merits; but I question whether the Allies are likely to desire to purchase horses which War Office buyers have rejected.
Mr. MEEHANIs the hon. Gentleman aware that they tried to buy these horses last year and would not be allowed to purchase them?
§ Mr. FORSTERIf anybody wants to buy these rejected horses and makes application the application will be considered on its merits.
