HC Deb 14 December 1916 vol 88 cc836-7
71. Mr. KING

asked the Prime Minister, whether a new Ministry of Labour is to be established forthwith; whether duties hitherto performed by the Home Office and the Board of Trade will be transferred to the Ministry of Labour; and whether, in view of the importance of preserving the health, harmony, and the maximum efficiency of our industrial forces, it is intended to increase the personnel and powers of the factory inspectorate?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I cannot yet give an answer definitely defining the details of the new arrangement. The point raised in the third part of the question will no doubt be considered by the Minister of Labour.
