HC Deb 14 December 1916 vol 88 c821
110. Sir P. MAGNUS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether during the last three months the Board of Agriculture has made any request for public money for the provision of agricultural machinery, the employment of a special ad hoc staff, or the cultivation of at present waste and uncultivated land, with a view to a large increase in home-grown food in either 1917 or 1918; and, if so, whether he has refused the application?

Mr. BONAR LAW

Proposals on this subject have been made to the Treasury by the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries. The Treasury have invited the Board to work out their schemes in detail, and the matter is now under consideration.
