HC Deb 04 December 1916 vol 88 c648
52. Mr. HANSON

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware of the holdings which Messrs. Jurgens, margarine manufacturers, of Amsterdam, are now known to hold in German concerns in several districts of Germany, stated by that firm in a prospectus recently issued in Amsterdam to be valued at £230,000; and whether, in view of this disclosure of enemy interest, any recent purchases by that firm of enemy property in Nigeria, recently sold in London, will now be cancelled?

Mr. STEEL-MAITLAND

I am informed that Messrs. Jurgens did not purchase any of the Nigerian properties at the recent sale.
