Mr. JOWETTasked the President of the Board of Trade if his attention has been called to the conditions under which men are working at British Dyes, Limited, Huddersfield, a firm which is subsidised by the Government, to the defective state of the sanitary arrangements there for instance, and also to the prevalence of eczema among the men employed in the picric acid department of the firm's works; and whether he will arrange with the Treasury to reduce the Government subsidy unless drastic alterations are made by the firm with the object of improving the conditions under which work is carried on under their management?
